Banana Orchid added to “Everything Cayman”

May 12th, 2012

Revision of then newest Oil on Canvas Painting by SCWarren completed.  February past, the Artist had returned to the Cayman Islands on a visit and showed around a picture of the newest oil on canvas painting he had just completed. He did so to get opinions of the Caribbean oil painting before having it published; it was pointed out to him that his new painting “Everything Cayman” hand one big omission, the “Banana Orchid “. The Banana Orchid is the national flower of the Cayman Islands; hence, how could a painting be called “Everything Cayman” without the national flower being included? Thus SCWarren began working on adding the “Banana Orchid” to his painting. Moreover the Artist reexamined his effort on the Silver Thatched Palm in this tropical painting and felt he could do better;  SCWarren decided to revise this segment, as well.  These changes were complete in April and just published; fine art prints are now available.  Please visit this site tropicalartz.com form details.

The “Coverings Exhibit” is now taking place in Orlando Florida until Friday 20 April, 2012. One of the exhibitor, Images in Tile, is displaying an 8 ft. tall mural image of SCWarren’s “Tropical Life IV” painting as a key element of its display. The original imaged is a 20 ”x 24” oil on canvas painting. It was cropped, printed on 8”x 8” tiles and then used to create a mural 8 ft. tall.  This image features a toucan bird posed in a tropical rainforest with a waterfall cascading down the side of a volcano in the back ground.  Also on display is a large floor mural, using glass tiles, of the famous Hawaiian Marine Artist Robert Wyland.  A photo of the display can be viewed on the home page at tropicalartz.com.
